DIRECTIONS
You can reach the DEICHBRAND Festival by car as follows:
Coming from Bremen, take the A27 motorway towards Cuxhaven, exit at “Nordholz/Seeflughafen”, and follow the signs to Wanhöden for about 6 km.
ATTENTION: If you are arriving on Thursday, please take the A27 towards Cuxhaven, exit at “Altenwalde”, immediately rejoin the A27 towards Bremen, then take the exit “Nordholz/Seeflughafen” and follow the signs to Wanhöden for about 6 km.
Coming from Hamburg, take the B73 (A26) to Cuxhaven, then continue at the motorway roundabout onto the A27 towards Bremen. Take the second exit “Nordholz/Seeflughafen” and follow the signs to Wanhöden for about 6 km.
Please do not take the Glückstadt–Wischhafen ferry under any circumstances - travel via Stade or Bremen instead.
The festival and the CHECKPOINT BACKSTAGE/ARTIST are well signposted.

Please follow the festival signage from the Nordholz exit and do not rely on your GPS/navigation system. Follow the signs for “Artist” and “Backstage.”
CHECKPOINT BACKSTAGE
Directly at Walter-Carstens-Straße, you will receive all required car passes and accreditations for your registered travel party. Please note that only the number of access credentials you have registered in advance will be available on site.
Please make sure to label your car passes immediately upon arrival with the respective vehicle license plate number and the driver’s mobile phone number.
Our welcome team will accompany you from the backstage checkpoint to your backstage area and show you your parking spaces as well as the Artist Village.
Please inform us as soon as possible about the number and type of vehicles you will be using to travel to the festival (nightliner, semi-trailer truck, van, car).

PARKING
Please inform us in advance of the festival about the number and type of vehicles your production will be traveling with, especially semi-trailer trucks and nightliners, with or without trailers.
Designated parking areas are available for buses that are registered in time. Power distribution units with available connections (CEE 32A 400V) are located within a maximum distance of 50 meters from each parking position. Please ensure you bring any necessary cable extensions.
ARRIVAL BEFORE YOUR SHOW DAY IS NOT POSSIBLE!
Parking space around the stages is limited. Areas directly at the stage, and especially loading dock spaces, are to be used exclusively for loading and unloading. Vehicles such as cars and vans must be moved to designated parking areas away from the stages immediately after loading or unloading.
For productions where the backline is transported in a bus or trailer, shuttle vehicles with towing equipment (ball hitch and pintle hook) are available.
TRUCK PERMITS
During the festival period, a Sunday driving ban for trucks applies on most German motorways and some rural roads. This applies to trucks with a maximum permissible weight of over 7.5 tons, as well as trucks up to 7.5 tons when towing a trailer. If you require a special driving permit for your trucks, please contact our Artist Relations team by email.
Please note that without a special permit, you are not allowed to operate your trucks on Sundays in Germany.
We are happy to assist you with the application process; however, this is only possible until the following deadline: June 22, 2026. The costs for the special permit, as well as a handling fee of €25 per permit, will be charged accordingly.
We can only process requests submitted before the deadline stated above. For requests received after the deadline, we cannot guarantee that a special permit will be issued.
To ensure a smooth approval process, please provide the following information for each vehicle:
